MARINER 10 IMAGES -- EDR FORMAT

In an effort to preserve old mission data JPL transferred their tape archive to cdrom in the early 1980s. The emphasis was on preservation so the old formats were kept along with documentation - no effort was made to convert the older formats to PDS (Martin et al., Planetary Image Conversion Task Final Report (PICT), JPL Publication 85-50, September 15, 1985). Relevant portions of the PICT documentation are available at the bottom of the download table. The cdroms have been copied directly to unix tar files in compressed format (use "tar -xvzf mvm_0001.tgz" to unpack). There are 15 cdroms in total, labeled MVM_00xx. During the initial effort an error occurred on CD MVM_0007 so a corrected second version was created. The corrected version is archived here.
